Inclusions

Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

  • Altitude: 1,800m to 3,000m

  • Distance: 11 km (6-7 hours)

  • Hike through lush rainforest to Machame Camp.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

  • Altitude: 3,000m to 3,850m

  • Distance: 5 km (4-6 hours)

  • Trek through moorland zone, scenic views of Shira Plateau.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

  • Altitude: 3,850m to 4,600m to 3,950m

  • Distance: 10 km (6-8 hours)

  • Acclimatization day; ascend to Lava Tower, descend to Barranco Valley.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

  • Altitude: 3,950m to 3,995m

  • Distance: 5 km (4-5 hours)

  • Climb the iconic Barranco Wall, trek to Karanga Camp.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

  • Altitude: 3,995m to 4,673m

  • Distance: 4 km (4-5 hours)

  • Short trek to Barafu base camp, rest before summit push.

Day 6: Summit Day (Barafu to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp)

  • Altitude: 4,673m to 5,895m to 3,100m

  • Distance: 17 km (12-16 hours)

  • Midnight start to reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise.

  • Descend to Mweka Camp.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

  • Altitude: 3,100m to 1,640m

  • Distance: 10 km (3-4 hours)

  • Final descent through rainforest.

  • Transfer back to your hotel.
